Destin

My sister already said it well on her blog. "My parents rented a nice 8 br house with a pool and hot tub. It was also right on a lake and right across the street from the beach. It was fun to see my parents and all of my siblings and for all 7 of the little cousins to get together. Aiden has 3 cousins that were born just within 2 months of him. Besides going to the beach and swimming in/relaxing by the pool, we did a little Easter Egg Hunt for all the kids, played on the playground, got pedicures, went to the Blue Angels air show, bowled, shopped at the outlets, ate way too much, played games every night, etc. Here is a picture overload:"
ohhhh and this. That is all. RTSZA

The Obligatory Pre Destin Post Mostly For the Purposes of Journal Keeping But Also Serving As Illustration Of A Few Things.

So, It was good to see all of the readers of this illustrious blog over the course of the last few weeks. I have a ton of florida pictures to sort through so I thought I'd get these out of the way before that so that they don't end up forgotten and discarded. The week before florida we went to a basketball class for Z. She "learned" to dribble, pass, hustle and dunk. Here is her hustle while fighting A for the ball.
Here is her shooting.
She really likes working with the teacher and really doesn't like working with me. She shut down a bit if the teacher was trying to do things with other kids but this is only her second try in a class type setting. "A" shut down the whole time because he likes ot play ball at home and here there wasn't enough balls, space or hoops for him to get involved so he cried and screamed pretty much the whole time.
The previous shots also serve a s a good comparison of a's hair length and style pre cut. I sat him down for his first haircut before we left fo Florida. This means clippers in the bearded man tradition. He took it mostly well until the end.
He made a funny face at the end so Z pitched in her .02.
This concludes the post. We know you have other choices when choosing to read blogs and on behalf of the Samventures family we thank you for reading ours. RTSZA

Paint it Red.

So,
T signed up for a class where the goal is to go to all kinds of fun field trip like destinations and come up with lessons or school related assignments based on those places. For this she gets college credits. We picked 2 destinations this last weekend and set out to see southern california from a elementary school perspective. Our Saturday destination was an old favorite but it was on the list of approved spots. Underwood Farms! Strawberry picking and farm living! Z and A had a great time running around. We picked a bunch of spinach, 3 lbs of strawberries and 2 heads of butter lettuce. The kids mostly like the non food picking part but they love to eat the berries. I call this chasing skirts...
They have big tractors to play on, singing chickens, and goats in trees.
"A" wasn't happy when we left the tractors.
Till he figured out how to ride in style. Pick a chariot and crack that whip!
Now pick the fields and enjoy the spoils.
Our Stop on Sunday was an Exotic cat breeding center and rescue.. The kids really didn't care for the cats too much. We were a bit nervous because the cats are really kind of close but it was a cool place.
The kids spent most of the time climbing on benches, and Z managed to acquaint herself with a rose bush much to her displeasure.
From the Cathouse we could hear the sounds of race cars. I knew there was a track (willow Springs) in town so we headed out to find it. Turns out there was a race going on of vintage indy cars and the guy at the gate let us in for free.
A wasn't a huge fan of all the noise.
So we left.
It was a good weekend. Hopefully next weekend will be just as good. (I'm looking at you) RTSZA-
