So,
It is fall around here sorta finally. We went to some small town a mile up a mountain to go apple picking. It was quite enjoyable. The season is almost over so the choicest apples were few and far between. We picked enough to eat and bake a pie. The pie is hideous but tasty so no pictures for you!

The trees were unimpressive. The orchard was somewhat unimpressive. |
|
The nature was nice. |

This way. |

Apples! |
So we picked our apples and started the walk back. The kids aren't the greatest of hikers and being at such a high altitude wasn't helping so we took a shady break.

Not letting go of his apple. Proud Picker. |

Anything she can do I can do. |
We finally made it back to the car and drove back into town for the apple themed festivities. The primary activity is apparently a cafe/ bakery that makes "Mile High Apple Pie!" The wait was at least 30 minutes so we didn't sit but I snuck some pictures of the bakery.

The racks are full of ridiculous apple pies. People were lined up to get some. |
Since the cafe was so busy we chose instead for fresh apple cider donuts. Man were they tasty.
|
SOOOOO TASTY!!! |
|
People watching and mini donuts. mmmm. |
We walked around the town and didn't purchase anything other than donuts. Then drove home. It was enjoyable.
