August, September and October......the Catch up post!

Well,

School started the 2nd week in August.  Everyone except Ryan started at a new school this year.  Zoey is in 3rd grade and Aiden in is 1st grade at Sundown Elementary School up here in Quartz Hill. Teresa started teaching at WestWind Elementary (Kinder).  It's a year of change for sure!

Here are the first day of school mandatory shots:

Zoey with her super sassy new haircut.  She decided to cut it all off and went for short in the back and longer in the front.  So much easier to manage, and she looks great with it!

Aiden didn't like 1st grade much on his first few days.  "All we do is sit and work".  It's a big transition from Kindergarten to 1st especially with an old school teacher like he has that does mostly desk work.  However, he quickly changed his tune and loves school now.

Zoey had a friend that lives across the street to play with, so her transition was much smoother.  She continues to be a social butterfly which is starting to get her into trouble, but we are working on it.

September 26- Aiden turned 7!

Aiden was so excited for this one especially because it means that he could finally go to the "big kid" room at the gym instead of "having to stay with the babies".

He got a bunch of great presents:

A remote control T-Rex,  a remote control car that goes over any terrain, a hot wheels car wash, a grow your own mineral rock experiment, a lego ninjago alarm clock, a special pokemon deck, a hand carved signed from Papa Grover, and the big present......a Tetherball set.

The kids have spent many hours outside with the tetherball game, and they have the bruises on their hands to prove it.

Aiden chose a chocolate cake and Yard House for dinner.  We went to Chuck E Cheese that weekend as a treat as well.

October 20-   Ryan turns 38

So, Ryan's birthday was on a Friday which would have been great, he was panning on going on a hike, however sick kiddos kind of took over the day and he was forced to stay home.

We ventured out to dinner with Papa Grover (who has been staying with us for a little while now as he gets the new house all ready) to Kinetic.  However, Zoey's stomach decided to not cooperate, and the dinner was cut short.......  so we did a redo the next day.

So, Saturday things were going better.  Ryan got to choose the activities for the day and we ended it with a pie.  He used his REI gift card and combined it with "my" present to get himself a Ghost Whisperer jacket.   It was his dream :)

October 31-   Halloween

This was our first Halloween in our new house so we weren't sure what to expect.  We had heard that the neighborhood gets a lot of trick or treaters so we bought extra candy just in case.

Zoey dressed up as Harley Quinn, Aiden was a Ninja, Teresa was Winifred Sanderson from Hocus Pocus, and Ryan wore a pin on his shirt that said "This is my Halloween costume".

We set out with one of the neighbor kids, Cody, and his mom and dad.  Our street got quite a few trick or treaters, but the main street down the block had hundreds.  The entire street had no parking because people were coming from all over to go trick or treating there.  There was a house  down the block that even had hot chocolate, coffee, and hot dogs for everyone.  It was a ton of fun!   Papa Grover stayed at the house handing out candy while we went out, and he enjoyed seeing all the kids come by.
