Apple Pickin!

So,
It is fall around here sorta finally. We went to some small town a mile up a mountain to go apple picking. It was quite enjoyable. The season is almost over so the choicest apples were few and far between. We picked enough to eat and bake a pie. The pie is hideous but tasty so no pictures for you!

Sweet mile high Air
We have to walk?

Got my Apple!

The trees were unimpressive. The orchard was somewhat unimpressive.

The nature was nice.
This way.

Apples!

So we picked our apples and started the walk back. The kids aren't the greatest of hikers and being at such a high altitude wasn't helping so we took a shady break.

Not letting go of his apple. Proud Picker.

Z's idea for an apple+ Z picture

Anything she can do I can do.

We finally made it back to the car and drove back into town for the apple themed festivities. The primary activity is apparently a cafe/ bakery that makes "Mile High Apple Pie!" The wait was at least 30 minutes so we didn't sit but I snuck some pictures of the bakery.
The racks are full of ridiculous apple pies. People were lined up to get some.
Since the cafe was so busy we chose instead for fresh apple cider donuts. Man were they tasty.

SOOOOO TASTY!!!

People watching and mini donuts. mmmm.

We walked around the town and didn't purchase anything other than donuts. Then drove home. It was enjoyable.

That sounds like a fun day to me. I would have waited to try that apple pie but I'm sure your homemade version was great.

Outings like that are so fun. Looks like the kidlets and mama enjoyed it. We never get to see the photographer. I'm excited to see everyone at Christmas.
