Devils Punchbowl

So,
Things have been pretty quiet since the whirlwind Christmas excursion. We took the kids out to a local nature area in the mountains recently.  I wanted to go check out the trails for possible day hikes and the family wanted to get out since the place is free. It is called Devils Punchbowl and sits right on the San Andreas fault so rocks are sticking up in the air everywhere and there's a large hole in the earth. The kids weren't much for the hiking thing so we never really made it to the rocks to play around but they were just as entertained with pinecones.

This is about as much hiking as we did. Pretty location though.

The rocks looked super fun  but we didn't make it across a ravine to them.

Possibly because of this little guy not wanting to walk anymore.

He'd rather play with a pine cone.

or a picnic table.

They have a couple captive owls.

Down in that hole is the devils punchbowl.

Trying to find the trail.

That's all for now.

That looks like a great place to hike and explore. What a cute family you have!
